Christ statue

The 5.5-metre-high Christ statue near Meggenhorn Castle was erected in 1900 on behalf of Countess Amélie Heine-Kohn – as a sign of gratitude after her recovery from a serious illness. Created by Lucerne sculptor Josef Vetter and inaugurated by the Bishop of Basel, it still shapes the lakeshore today.
Castles along the shore

Several historic castles line the Küssnacht lake route, including Meggenhorn Castle, Neuhabsburg Castle and Greppen Castle, shaping the lakeside scenery. Lake Lucerne was once an important transport and trade route, and from the 19th century onwards, the picturesque landscape attracted wealthy families and aristocrats who built representative summer residences and homes here.
Astrid Chapel

The Astrid Chapel on the shore of Lake Küssnacht commemorates Queen Astrid of Belgium, who died in an accident in Küssnacht in 1935. The simple yet dignified chapel was built as a memorial and remains a place of remembrance and quiet reflection amidst the impressive lakeside scenery.
Mount Rigi – the Queen of the Mountains

During the round trip, impressive views open up towards Mount Rigi, the Queen of the Mountains. High above the lake lies the sunny Seebodenalp, accessible from Küssnacht – a scenic terrace with wide panoramic views over Lake Lucerne and the mountains of Central Switzerland.
The story of William Tell

Near Küssnacht, the famous Hohle Gasse recalls the story of William Tell and is one of the most iconic sites of Switzerland’s founding legend. The region is closely linked to the origins of Switzerland, adding a distinctive cultural depth to the round trip.
